The New IDEA Workshop
Equipping the Church for Effective Discipleship.
We want to see everyone equipped and confident to participate in the Great Commission.
In Matt 28:19-20, Jesus tells us to make disciples in every nation by baptizing them, then teaching them to observe all that He has commanded us. This “Great Commission” was given to all of us, not just pastors, missionaries, and evangelists. The Apostle Paul, in Ephesians 4:11-13, says that the role of the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers is to equip all believers for the work of ministry. He defines this ministry as building up the body of Christ until all have achieved maturity in Christ. Just to make sure they understand him, he describes maturity as the ability to think critically about various false teachings.
Jesus equipped His disciples for the role of disciple-makers through a daily interactive teaching and learning process. In just three short years, Christ’s disciples went from ordinary men in secular professions to disciple-makers who changed the known world. In Acts 19:8-10, the Apostle Paul also used interactive teaching for two years in Ephesus so that the truth of the gospel spread to everyone in the province. Paul instructs Timothy, one of the disciples he trained, to pass on the content and the competent way of teaching that Paul had used to “faithful people who will be competent to teach others as well.” (2 Timothy 2:2, NET Bible).
We too want to obey the Great Commission and change the world for Christ. But, most Christians in churches today do not feel competent or confident to teach and make disciples. The IDEA Workshop is designed to equip every student, no matter your education background, with interactive discipleship skills and principles like those we can observe Jesus and Paul used so effectively. We want to feel competent and confident to teach others as they did, to obey the Great Commission.
The IDEA Workshop is a face to face interactive 3-5 day (24-hour) workshop that leads participants to apply Jesus’s interactive teaching principles to build effective lessons to address a learner’s head, heart and hands. Participants will learn to effectively teach Biblical truth so that learners consider it in terms of their former understanding and apply it in their own lives. Graduates can also use the IDEA tools and principles to teach anything where it is important that students not just listen, but digest and act on their learning.
Are you ready to be better equipped for discipling others as Christ and Paul did? Do you want to change your world for Christ? If so, come join us at an IDEA Workshop!
